Springtime Books For Kids
Hi! I’m Elizabeth from All Kinds of Things, and I am so excited to be visiting with you today!
Don’t you just love springtime? (Well, I could do without the allergies, but other than that…) *smile*
Over the past couple of weeks, I have been working to transition our house to spring – lightweight sheets, short-sleeve shirts, open windows, more colorful home accent pieces, etc. We have been loving our North Carolina weather, and we are especially looking forward to celebrating the Easter season.
In our house, part of looking forward to a specific holiday is pulling out books, activities, etc. that go right along with that time of year/celebration. (Visit this post to see how I rotate toys, books, etc. year round.)
I so love our springtime book collection – so many fun books about colorful flowers, baby animals, growing gardens, Easter egg hunts, etc. but my favorite books are the ones that remind my little ones of the #1 reason why we celebrate the Easter season – a risen Savior! I am so thankful for that reality~
Here is a handful of spring reads I have in a basket on my kitchen counter. They have been great for keeping little hands busy while I prepare dinner, etc.
Today, I want to share with you three sweet springtime books that I especially love, and I think the kiddos in your life will enjoy them as well!

First, I grew up with Paddington Bear, and I love this sweet little book about him: Paddington Bear in the Garden.

 The illustrations are especially adorable!
 Such a cute little bear!

Next, have you seen My Easter Basket: And the True Story of Easter?

It’s a book that uses sweet treats and goodies in an Easter basket to tell the true faith story of Easter? This is a great book to use with toddlers/preschoolers.

Love the design of this book!
Finally, Benjamin’s Box: The Story of the Resurrection Eggs is incredible! It is especially wonderful for elementary-aged children.
I would suggest actually using a tangible box and filling it with the items featured in the story. Doing this is absolutely powerful. I have done this activity with 2nd/3rd graders, and it most definitely brings the Easter story to life.
(The idea is somewhat similar to Resurrection Eggs – another wonderful Easter activity!)
Meet Benjamin~

May your Easter season be filled with the truth and hope that can only be found in our risen Savior.

Do you have a favorite Spring or Easter book? Please share!
