25 Unique Baby Shower Gifts Under $25

By jessica 2 Comments

I’m always on the hunt for unique baby shower gifts. It seems whenever a shower invitation comes in the mail, I draw a blank and I’m left browsing swaddle blankets and onesies. Although those things are nice to have, I like having a gift that I know Mom and Baby will LOVE.

I started brainstorming about the gifts I and my babies have loved. Then I asked on my Facebook page and, wow, the readers were FULL of wonderful and unique suggestions.

Here are the best of the best, 25 awesomely unique baby shower gifts, all under $25. Hope you enjoy!

  • Little Bits Cuddle Bit Blanket – all of my kids have and love these little blanket cuddles. It’s one of our go-to shower gifts. What I love is that Sandy, the seamstress, uses her proceeds to support her daughter and son-in-law’s missionary work. These blankets are very well-made and kids love them.
  • Child to Cherish Buttermilk Farm Animals– These kind-of-rare stuffed animals are absolute gems. These “friends” as we call them are ALL of my three kids’ favorites! We have Samule the Mule, Banjo the Dog, and Daisy the Bunny. They are cuddly and super-durable (still going strong after six years!)
  • Evie & Jo Organic Baby Gift Basket – I reviewed the wonderful Evie & Jo products before. This gift basket comes with organic diaper cream, organic lotion bar (which is amazing! my absolute favorite!) and hand sanitizer. These products are high-quality and pleasant to use.
  • Zutano Booties – baby socks that stay on?!?!?! ENOUGH SAID.
  • Carseat cover. How did I live without this for so long? I have this exact one.
  • Sleep Sheep Sound Machine – A traveling sound machine…to keep the baby asleep when the car ride is done. So nice!
  • A Mom Post-Partum gift basket. I gave one of these to my sister and she loved it. I included Epsom Salts for a bath, witch hazel (for…you know, down there), nursing pads, Lanolin, mother’s milk tea, hemorrhoid lotion (you probably wouldn’t do that if it wasn’t a sister or close friend 🙂 ), and sanitary pads. A little unsexy, but totally useful!
  • A CD of baby lullabies. You could burn your own. I love this one.
  • A mattress cover. This Harlow’s Earth Crib Mattress Cover protects from harmful smells and possibly prevents SIDS. I love having it on my daughter’s mattress.
  • A baby medical kit. I’ve done this too and included Gripe Water, Organic Gas Drops, nose suction, etc. So great to have.
  • A children’s Bible – this one is our absolute favorite.
  • Teething Kit – you could include Hyland’s Homeopathic Teething Tablets, RaZ-berry Teether, and Baby Gum Massagers. What a helpful gift down the road!
  • Ear thermometer. I cannot tell you how many thermometers I have bought before FINALLY finding this one…that works.
  • A Personalized nursery wall art. There are tons on Etsy. I have one sort of like this for my daughter. It was the most thoughtful gift!
  • A gift for the siblings. My neighbor gave my sons this when my daughter was born and I thought it was the coolest idea! She gave them a cool new show to watch while I was busy with the new baby. Such a thoughtful gift!
  • Kiddopotamus Placemats – these are super-useful to have down the road!
  • Infant Car Seat Handle Cushion – Man was I glad to have this! It really starts to hurt to carry those babies! 🙂
  • The book Bringing Up Boys or Bringing Up Girls – I highly recommend both of these books. So helpful to have!
  • Lactation Cookies for a nursing mom
  • Post-Baby pajamas for mom – I love this idea from one of my readers. I ended up buying some pajamas for myself post-partum because you’re up so much at night nursing and want to be comfortable. Love this idea!
  • Printable Bible verses for mom – my cousin gave me something similar to these. They were about half the size of an index card on cute colored paper.
  • Folder to Organize Important Baby Papers – this is a super-cute baby shower gift idea. I would have loved having one of these.
  • Baby Monthly Tracker . You can find many varieties of these on Etsy. My friend Jessica makes some that are super-cute (comment below for more info!)’

I don’t know if it’s the best, but for the last baby shower I attended, I made the mom a basket of things to relax or pamper with. Foot cream, a Real Simple magazine, chapstick, chocolates, and maybe something else (i can’t remember for sure). For good measure, I threw in a cute onesie for her new little guy. It was a really simple (last minute) gift I put together walking through Target.

I presented my mom a DIY cover for her newly purchased iPhone and she flashed it to all of the guest who dropped by that day for the party. So happy experience.
