It’s that time of year when we homeschool moms begin evaluating, browsing, and purchasing! After nine years of homeschooling, we have settled upon a few that we absolutely love. This is my list of five star recommended curricula.
- Sonlight: Best for: new elementary-teaching moms or moms desiring a lot of structure and already-set-in-place planning.
- Good and the Beautiful: Highly recommend the language arts in particular for elementary-aged students
- IEW theme-based writing curricula – best for upper elementary and middle school
- Saxon Math – best for students who learn systematically and are not greatly struggling with math
- Beast Academy Math Program – best for elementary students. Curriculum is quite challenging so start at the beginning no matter the age. We have only done the online version.
- Life of Fred mathematics – unique approach to learning math word problems.
- Mystery of History
- Old Story New and Long Story Short Family Devotions for Bible
- World Watch – daily news in 10 minutes
- Latin and Greek Root Flashcards
- Ultimate Homeschool Planner
- Apologia Science – we have loved reading this aloud at the elementary level and doing the notebooking journal.
