*How to make your life easier before school starts*
Head nod to lazy genius. Here are steps I am taking *now to make my life easier in August. I know a lot of people’s lives get crazy in August. If you homeschool, it is even more difficult to balance all the things.
My goal in life is to help moms enjoy their lives more, especially homeschooling moms. Identifying the things that are going to drive you crazy and fixing them now is KEY to your success as a homeschool mom. Here’s my list to make your life easier later!
ps. I have a course helping moms rock at homeschooling.
ps. I’ve made all of these into a customizable, streamlined checklist you can print! See below for the download.
- Schedule necessary appointments (dentist, haircuts)
- Low-key inventory the house and stock up on any supplies that are annoying to be out of and take annoying steps to replenish (printer ink, wrapping paper, makeup, muffin liners, toiletries)
- Make kids chore charts for when Back To School Starts — what makes your life actually easier that you can take off your plate? See my post on Creating Chore Charts That Work
- Costco run – stock up on easy lunch supplies and easy-to-prep dinners
- related…make a monthly meal plan. Yes it’s a terrible 90 minutes but then you don’t have to plan dinner for the entire month…and that is glorious
- Organize spaces that stress you out – pantry, your closet. You don’t need any extra stress in your life, especially if you are homeschooling
- Make a plan for YOUR food. Pick up things that are easy to grab, prep breakfasts for you.
- batch cooking — whatever snacks or meals help you, make ahead in the few weeks before school
