Evie & Jo Natural & Organic Giveaway

I’ve been waiting for so long to do this post! I L.O.V.E. Evie & Jo!

If you haven’t heard of Evie & Jo, that’s probably because it’s an emerging, local-to-me-owned company, actually founded by my dear friend and cousin, Kelly! Kelly has an entire line of natural, organic products for sale in her Etsy store: lip balm, sunscreen, bug repellent, organic scrubs and cleaners, even diaper cream and dog shampoo – all organic (where possible), safe, and natural.

Now look. You might be tempted to dismiss Evie & Jo line because you haven’t heard of it. Ohhhhhh my goodness, that would be a huge mistake. Here’s why.

• Do you know any of those people, who, when they do something, just do it perfectly? Kelly is one of those people. When she started her business, we all knew her products would look, feel, and perform great. And they all do. These are not products concocted in some back-woods, anonymous, less-than-sanitary location. Kelly makes them all in her (very clean and organized) kitchen. She tests all her recipes until they’re perfect, and then packages them adorably.

• Her products, while reasonably priced, are excellent. I tested the lotion bar, the peppermint lip balm, and the hand sanitizer. (I’ve also previously used the scrub cleaner – worked wonders on my shower door!, the foaming hand soap, and the organic lemon scrub – all amazing!)

Here are a few things I loved this time around:

The Lotion Bar – This is such a brilliant concept. A bar of lotion! 🙂 You apply it over dry skin, no rubbing in needed. I loved the ease of applying it, versus the mess of lotions you have to rub in everywhere. And it’s a terrific formula – I’ve been using it on my “summer beach heels” (anyone else get those?) and it really does the trick! It’s completely organic – made of organic beeswax, organic coconut oil, organic raw shea butter, and organic lavender.

Organic peppermint lip balm – Okay. So how exciting can chapstick be, right? VERY, actually. I’m a chap stick collector. I’ve used them all… Burt’s Bee’s, Badger, Chapstick, Nivea, EOS, on and on. This is by far my favorite kind of lip balm ever. I actually prefer the ease of the plain tube Kelly also sells, but there was something really wonderful about the peppermint flavor in this variety in the tub. It tasted so pure and yummy. 🙂 I honestly think every time I use this lip balm, I love this stuff. 

 

Organic Bug Spray – this stuff is the bomb. Do people still say that? Completely safe ingredients, but way effective, even for those kids who seem to get bit all the time. There is no question that this product works. My sons had just started getting bites when playing outside in the last few weeks. They did not get bit at all when using this, and neither did I. And I love how safe it is!

Organic Hand Sanitizer – My husband and I have this ongoing argument: Germs are good for you. No they’re not. And on and on. In all truth, I probably have an unhealthy obsession with hand sanitizer. I hate seeing my kids sick! We use sanitizer a lot while out. While many sanitizers contain harmful ingredients, this one is completely safe, and also effective. Highly recommend, especially if you’re one of those “sanitizing moms.” You know who you are. 🙂
